July 17, 2026 – We are pleased to inform you that the Board of Governors has asked Dr. Lisa Rhine to assume the position of President of Central Arizona College, pending final negotiations. She is expected to assume the office on September 1, 2026. We welcome Dr. Rhine’s leadership as we begin the next chapter of Central Arizona College’s history.
Lisa Rhine, Ph.D., most recently served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Yavapai College, AZ. Previously, Dr. Rhine served as Provost and Chief Operating Officer of Tidewater Community College Chesapeake Campus, VA. Dr. Rhine earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Administration from Capella University; a Master of Science in Education degree in Special Education from University of Dayton; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counselling from Wright State University.
President Elect-Rhine’s extensive presidential leadership experience, deep understanding of the higher education landscape in Arizona, and broad range of experiences and impact are assets she brings to Central Arizona College. Under her leadership, Yavapai College markedly improved student success rates and obtained numerous notable distinctions, including as a Top Workplace in the nation and in Arizona and as a top Ten Finalists for the Bellwether Award. We were especially impressed by her strong commitment to and achievements in serving first generation and rural students.
We would like to thank the entire College community again for participating in the presidential finalist forums. All feedback was reviewed and greatly valued by the Board. This collaborative and concerted work enriched the search process.
Additionally, we express our appreciation to the members of the Presidential Search Committee for their time, dedication, and thoughtful work on behalf of Central Arizona College.
