During their regular board meeting on Thursday, May 19, the Laredo College Board of Trustees met in executive session to discuss the employment of the college’s sole presidential finalist, Dr. Maria Minerva (Minita) Ramírez.
The board unanimously voted to move forward in extending an employment offer and beginning final negotiations. Upon Dr. Ramírez’s acceptance, the college will proceed with preparations for her transition into the position. She is expected to assume the office on July 1, 2022.
“We are in the final stages of officially having Dr. Minita Ramírez as our eighth college president and are excited to have an academic leader of her caliber take the reins at Laredo College,” Laredo College Board President Lupita Zepeda said. “We look forward to working together for our students and our community as we continue to uphold the standards of academic excellence, workforce development and innovation characteristic of our beloved college.”
