Following the announcement that current President Dr. Margaret Hamilton will be retiring in late June next year, the national search for Lane Community College’s next President has commenced and is projected to conclude with the next incumbent in place by July 2022.
The College’s Board of Education is set to approve appointments made to the Presidential Search Advisory Committee on September 15. Representatives from the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) will be facilitating a number of public forums in early October to gain insights from students, faculty, staff, and community members on characteristics that are critical for Lane’s next President to possess, along with opportunities and challenges the College currently faces. These forums will be supplemented by feedback to a public survey designed by ACCT and distributed by Lane.
